Welcome from the Commodore

Welcome to Olton Mere Sailing Club. The club has a proud history having been in existence since 1899. Whilst things may have changed somewhat from those early days of hunting, fishing, ice skating and sailing for a mere handful of wealthy Edwardians, the club remains dedicated to dinghy sailing, family enjoyment and friendship. And all within the quiet oasis of countryside within the middle of Solihull known as Olton Mere.

While the focus of the club remains to be competitive racing dinghy sailing, associated activities see people enjoying various social events, helping to run the races, teaching and development of other water based skills, supporting local youth or other community groups or simply taking in the beauty that is Olton mere. In short Olton Mere Sailing Club has a place for everyone.

The club prides itself on being family friendly and new members of all ages are most welcome. Our qualified instructors can take you from being a complete novice to a competent single handed dinghy sailor or power boat driver.Moreover, you would be welcomed into to the Olton Mere family.
