Angling at Olton Mere

Olton Mere reservoir is situated close to the town of Solihull on the edge of the South Birmingham boundary and the waters of Mere feed the Grand Union Canal system. All of the Olton Mere grounds is designated as a site of special scientific interest (SSSI).

Anglers are catered for with over 25 angling posts available around the lake. The reservoir accommodates large bream with fish over 8lb being taken and numbers of Roach are coming through which is pleasing for the future. Large Pike to over 20lb provide excellent winter sport and a small but growing number of carp provide a great challenge to the dedicated specimen angler.
