Olton Mere Sailing Club

Olton Mere is situated in the heart of Solihull and close the City of Birmingham. Spread over 39 acres of water, the sailing club offers training and racing dinghy sailing of all abilities. From complete novices through to regular racers, Olton Mere has something to challenge everyone.

When not sailing, there is an active social side with a club bar and regular events to get everyone involved.

The grounds also are an enjoyable walk through some fantastic nature and wildlife and is classified as site of special scientific interest.

Olton Mere also hosts a number of youth and community organisations to help as many as possible experience water sports.

Range of abilities

In the last few years we have had more new people take up the sport than ever before, from a range of abilities and backgrounds. The support, teaching, and coaching that our members provide is seen as a model for successful clubs in the future, and I look forward to see that continue. More »

Members have often heard me say 'We're not the Olympics', but that does not stop us from being great. I am proud of the way that our club has continued to be welcoming, inclusive, and supportive. We encourage each other, on and off the water, and together we are ambassadors for our sport. More »
